As a professional organizer, I love a good plan! And what better thing to plan for than our beloved democracy. Here are some links for my Triangle based friends and clients to use if they’re looking for additional voting resources for the 2024 election.
- Check your voter registration (I must admit, I checked mine several times, and had my family do the same!): https://vt.ncsbe.gov/RegLkup/
- Make sure you have the proper ID available: https://www.ncsbe.gov/voting/voter-id
- Track your absentee ballot if you vote by mail: https://northcarolina.ballottrax.net/voter/
- Vote early! Find your early voting place here: https://www.ncsbe.gov/voting/vote-early-person
- Heading out to vote and want to check the crowds? In Orange County, use this handy tool: https://www.orangecountync.gov/…/Early-Voting-Wait-Time…
- Register in person when you show up to vote if you haven’t already: https://www.ncsbe.gov/…/register-person-during-early…
Don’t forget to thank those people working the polls! It takes a lot of volunteers to keep this democracy afloat. I was particularly relieved to see so many faithful poll watchers. The Chapel of the Cross early voting site felt like a party, and the line moved quickly. I get a little choked up when they ring the bells for first time voters. Let freedom ring!
